My tonsils hate me

I have tonsilitis and I have to work all weekend, including christmas eve, at the tavern. Talk about a freaking lump of coal in my stocking. My parents are freaking out at me. If I end up dead it's either my tonsils or my parents that killed me.

On the bright side, we have our secret santa for our knitting group, here is a picture from our knitting blog

It's blurry, but it's last holiday season at the wine bar!

I was dead at the time!

I was on the moon with Steve!

Oh what happened today, it's my grandfather's 81st birthday and he had eye surgery today (happy freaking birthday), his wife's mother died today, and my aunt nan has an infection from her plastic surgery. Oh and new york city is on crack.

I can't talk... I have tonsilitus... but I still have to work christmas eve.
Hopefully the anti-biotics will have kicked in by then. I am going to go to the store and buy juice.

Mercury is in retrograde

Public service announcement from your favorite Gemini named Laura: Mercury is in retrograde. It means it appears to spin backwards on it's axis. It messes up communication, technology and travel. Never get into a relationship, burn a bridge, change jobs or make any other important decisions when mercury is in retrograde. It begins to come out of retrograde during the end of December and finally is all better on our Ukrainian Christmas, January 7th. My sister got her car wedged under a tractor trailer on 787 last year and is refusing to drive to work, so I am driving her in... Let's see ... no real other news. My children's book for IST571 is almost finished... so all I really have to do is write another paper and do my IST523 final... but we haven't recieved it yet, bleh. Anyway, I'm off to risk my life bringing crossgates another employee.

ISP or IST (or whatever my program is called now) 523

Rock! I just made a blog...
I'm not going to lie to you people, this isn't for entertainment value...

Here is stuff about my final project:

Q: Blog your project experience, and reflection on the use of social software in completing the final project.

A: My project experience has been pretty great. My group rocks- we have used social software a little but we have met in person more often than not.
We have used flash drives to link to each other's computers when we were working in a lab together. Saving material on our unix accounts has also allowed us to access our information from anywhere.
The use of SSI has allowed us to work on our individual parts of our web page.
Perhaps if we lived farther away from each other or couldn't agree on a central meeting time we would have been more dependent on the social computing. It is interesting to learn about and for future classes- if I have a large group project- I might consider setting up a wiki. PB wiki sounded especially neat.

Well. I am off to make a social bookmarking site. I'll be back to let you know my progess.
