Under the Sea

So when we learned our friend Sam was leaving Library Development all the student assistants were very sad. But we decided to have a party at work! Alexis made pumpkin pie from scratch(Sam's favorite!), Gabe brought orange soda (Sam's favorite), we got him a shiny happy smileyface balloon (not really sam's favorite but that's ok). And I decided to make brownies! I couldn't help myself when I saw the cake decorations... though some people believe that brownies should not be frosted/iced/decorated in any way. I saw it as an artistic opportunity. A way to make a statement (or just a mess!).

Thanks Jason for humoring me (and helping me not set the kitchen on fire)- and thanks to all of lib dev for at least trying them ;) LOVE!

I'll fly away!

Miss Melissa took this before I got on my first flight ever!

This is part of the view from the space needle!

This is Clyde investigating my camera. He is one of 4 baby kittens that live at Angela's mom's house! So cute.

Holy Adventures!

Wow, this summer has been one big adventure. While in Newpalz Melissa took me to a craft store that had a stamp that read "ADVENTURE" I wanted to buy it and then stamp things and people to make my adventures official. Everyone I know would be all inky though if I did. So...

Can you row a boat? I dunno, canoe?! Here Joe and I play in the canoe!

Fast forward to Seattle

Here Angela and I visit the Freemont(sp?) Troll! Yes he's holding a Volkswagen bug! I am so glad we visited it. Angela knew all the cool spots to go!

Here we go to a Seattle record store. I loved this area of Seattle!

And then I went to the sound, which is basically the Pacific Ocean! Angela's sister found me some neat sea shells and we all took a nap on the beach! I love the West Coast (but I'm still an East Coast girl... We realized this when they laughed when I said August (Awe-gust) and also that I laughed when Angela said " you're harshing my mellow") I still dig it though!

This is where we stayed. It's a "container". I would explain more but all you need to know it that it was super.

So in sad news, my friend Becca is leaving us. She is going to Guatemala and California!!! Wow! I am happy for her but I will miss her a lot :( Love to the Becca if she reads this!

Seattle!

There are so many rocking things about Seattle. Unfortunately I was unable to capture them all on film... And then there's choosing what to post from all the fun things! I want to give ya some of the highlights of the awesome trip I just got back from today! Let's start from day 1 and move on:

Pink Lemonade is better than the yellow kind. Why?

Pretty Pretty view of the water from this place! It didn't rain at all the whole time we were there! It was so lovely! More pictures to come soon!

Good year

I was just thinking... as it turns out... this has been a really good year so far. It all started when the Steelers won the superbowl and then I got the job at the library. And then it just keeps being awesome ::knocks on wood::

So life is great, Pittsburgh is awesome... my family is insane but lovely (it's genetic). Going to Seattle on Wednesday...

Had a great weekend- went to see the Kamikaze hearts at the tavern and blew off a lot of steam (see: going out with friends after spending a week with your entire family including 18 total hours of driving). Was hurting a little (mentally emotionally physically spiritually) today... But then I went to Newpalz with Melissa and Joe and we hung out with Joe's family and it was so beautiful there. And I met their friend Jason who was nice and he had a pet duck when he was a kid and he's getting chickens and maybe if we go to Newpalz again we can see the chickens and that would be neat. He told me where to see bunnies in Seattle! Pretty cool.

First day back to work tomorrow... I probably have about 300 emails, sigh. Can't wait to hit the road again. Photo-documentation will be made and displayed here. Whee!
